This is just basic ideas that are the foundation of our civilization. Aristotle makes observations about our lives and government that should be noted in any political discussion. Logic and having common ground in the use of words makes for a sane and important exchange of ideas. He takes an overview of how we live together and writes about the basic building blocks of society and government. He writes about households and how all is connected in a way that no one is isolated and not important. There is a wholeness that is refreshing. He uses a language common to us all. It is about how we are connected to one another. He has no political axe to grind in our modern day political debates and offers suggestions to lead us to higher ground.

Good read
It felt like some xeroxed three different books with low toner and scanned them on different days
Great book, wonderful classic, formatted well for the . No misspellings or punctuation errors, and highly enjoyable read. The read aloud function works great!
One thing lacking in modern time is a moral code of ethics. As the years have passed and I reach 75, I can see the lack of Ethical behavior in our schools, our businesses, our governments and our very existence. Maybe the road to success and enlightenment is a return to the teaching of ethics and the application there of.
Suggest purchasing the version because I could highlight and make notes on the book. Like the tools offered on the version. It makes it easy to look up terms and see how many times they are used and the locations in the book.
I found the protagonist in Jeri Westerson's series featuring Sir Crispin Guest constantly referring to Aristotle, so I had to go to the source. Frankly, some of Aristotle's insights are remarkably advanced and frequently better than those found in so-called "holy" books. Not that surprising really, since Aristotle was an educated man, and most of the religious books began with uneducated people. If you want a very good alternative viewpoint on life, try Aristotle. He has survived all these centuries for a reason.
Truly a great book, but not exactly an easy read. There are overly ornate sentences, he grinds endlessly about matters of little import, belabors the obvious. Reading it isn't pleasurable, but is illuminating. It is useful as a historical document illustrating the course of Western philosophy. It is a good document for any person of letters to read and revisit.
